Government Revises Proposals To Tax
In his Budget of 12 March the Chancellor significantly modified
his earlier proposals for reforming the tax treatment of UK
resident, non-domiciled individuals and their offshore structures.
The original proposals had been outlined in Octobers
Pre-Budget Report and given flesh in the detailed legislation
that followed in January this year. It became clear from the
March Budget statement, however, that the Government had decided
to ameliorate the reforms as originally envisaged. Overall
this was good news for non-domiciliaries, although it remains
important for them to review their affairs in the light of
what amount to substantial changes to the existing tax rules
affecting them and their off-shore structures. >>more>>
