Charles Russell was invited to Canada by the London Stock Exchange to speak about AIM.
Charles Russell advised on the first ever joint IPO on both AIM and the Toronto Stock Exchange.
As a firm we have strong links with Canada which go back to our involvement with Baring Straits arbitration at the end of the Nineteenth Century. We have handled the legal business of The Canadian High Commission in London ever since.

Recent deals include:

• Acting for Canaccord Capital (Europe) Limited in the first joint IPO on the Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange and the Toronto Stock Exchange of YM BioSciences Inc.

• Acting for BTG International Limited, the global commercialisation company, in their investment of CDN $8.8 Million in SAMSys Technologies Inc., the Toronto based provider of Radio Frequency Identification reader hardware systems, whose shares are listed for trading on the Canadian Venture Exchange.

• Acting for Reichhold Inc., a leading global supplier of synthetic materials, in the sale of its Swift Adhesives Business to Forbo, a global producer of floor coverings and industry specialities. The transaction involved 17 different jurisdictions in Europe, North America, China and Brazil. The overall consideration was US$210m with the Canadian portion of the transaction valued at US$6,440,000.
