The Charles Russell team advises on a full range of regulatory
issues and has particular experience of advising on matters
of relevance to the utilities, communications and broadcasting
sectors. We provide regulatory advice to both private sector
companies, regulatory bodies in the UK and abroad, European
institutions and foreign governments.
Three members of the team have been seconded to the Telecoms
Regulatory Authority of Bahrain and we have also provided
a recent series of lectures to regulators on regulatory and
competition issues.
We have advised the European Commission on regulatory matters,
having been selected by the Commission (Directorate General
for Transport and Energy) in 2005 to provide a study into
the effectiveness of the new unbundling regime for the electricity
and gas sectors across Europe. More recently, we were also
selected by the European Commission to update the fourth report
on the implementation of Council Regulation 3557/92 applying
the principle of freedom to provide services to maritime cabotage.
