*NEW* - January 2008 Consultation on financial thresholds
in the Charities Acts
Following on from the raising of the mandatory registration
threshold for small charities and increases in the audit thresholds
for charities, the Charity Commission and the Office of the
Third Sector have launched a joint process of consultation
on their review of and proposals to change the regulatory
and reporting thresholds in the 1992, 1993 and 2006 Charities
Acts. Charities and related organisations have until 31 March
2008 to respond and the consultation document that includes
the proposals can be located on the Commission's website at
www.charity-commission.gov.uk/news/threshold.asp.

of the implementation timetable for the Charities Act, which

Bill has now received Royal Assent, having completed its passage
through Parliament yesterday evening. It is now on the statute
