Charles Russell is offering you the chance to participate in our 2009 Summer Vacation Scheme by giving you the opportunity to gain a valuable insight into the Practice and the type of work we do, you will be able to experience life as a trainee in two different service areas.

THE PLACEMENT
When will the scheme run?
For a total of 4 weeks , across the months of June and July.

How long will the placement last?
Candidates will be offered a two week placement.

How many placements are available?
16
Each candidate will be nominated a mentor (recently qualified solicitor) as well as working closely with our current trainees.

Candidates will be paid approx £200.00 per week.

ACTIVITIES
In addition to gaining an insight into the practice, candidates will participate in a number of structured activities including a "mock Trial".

There will also be weekly social events taking place during the two weeks to interact with the current trainee solicitors on a more informal basis.

ACADEMICS
Do I need to meet a certain academic criteria?
Yes, ideally you should have (or the equivalent of ) good 'A' Level and GCSE's and have obtained, or be on target to obtain a 2:1 or above.

APPLICATIONS
The closing date for the 2008 Placement Programme has now passed and the application form for the 2009 Placement Programme will be available in December 2008.

The closing date will be 31 January 2009.

Are placements open to all candidates?
No, only those looking to commence a Training Contract in 2011.

When will I know whether my application has been successful?
Successful candidates will be contacted by the end of March.

WHAT HAPPENS TO MY TRAINING CONTRACT APPLICATION?
Those successful candidates who participate in our Placement Programme may be invited back for an interview, this will be subject to feedback and performance during the two weeks.
